Cricket is a very popular sport and is played around the world. The game of cricket is not so new it is as old as almost eight centuries. Well, the official international matches started in the year 1877. Nobody knows that when or where the game of cricket begun but there are evidences that this game was formulated by the children living in south-east England. As the games started to spread out of England the laws of the game such as bat and ball, pitch dimensions, wicket, overs, and how to be out etc were also formulated.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the governing body of cricket and it was founded in 1909. The ICC has 104 members and it is responsible for organization and governance of international tournaments as Cricket World Cup. This is also the responsibility of ICC to appoint international referees and umpires which are sponsored by Emirates Airline. The official test cricket nations are currently: England, West Indies, South Africa, Australia, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Zimbabwe etc.

Cricket is played by two teams and each team has eleven players. The things one needs to play cricket are cricket ground equipments which meet specific standards i.e. two sight screens, stumps and bails, and finally ball and bat. The field, where this game is played is covered by grass. The person who throws the ball is called the bowler, the bowler takes few quick steps and throws the ball towards the batsman. The bats man then use his bat and hit the ball, other players who stand in the field are called fielders.
